How do I translate the News Feed on dashboard?

How do I translate the News Feed on dashboard?

Translating the language file

Translate the language file at <root>/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.plg_joombri_jblancefeeds.ini. If your default language is French, then translate it and copy it as <root>/administrator/language/fr-FR/fr-FR.plg_joombri_jblancefeeds.ini. Please note that the language code is different for different languages.

If you have done this step, all the future user activities/feeds will be translated and saved into the database.

Translating the database table

If you have missed translating the language file (explained in step 1), the activities will be saved by default in English. Hence you need to translate the content of the table xxx_jblance_feed. If there are so many entries, please remove the old entries from the table.

* xxx is your table prefix.

How do I be redirected after login?

How do I get redirected after login?

This FAQ could further be split into two.

A. How do I get redirected after my first login?

In Joomla, by default, after you activate your account (through activation email), you will be redirected to Joomla Profile page which serves no purpose. Here is the solution to redirect to JoomBri Dashboard.

  1. Download the latest Core Login Redirect plugin from JED.
  2. Install the plugin by following the usual procedure.
  3. Go to Plugin Manager and edit System - Core Login Redirect.
  4. Set the Status to Enabled.
  5. By Default, all the Component field will be set to Community Builder. It is very important to change all the values to Joomla Core to avoid error pages.
  6. Under PROFILE HANDLER, set Component to Custom and Redirect URL to index.php?option=com_jblance&view=user&layout=dashboard
  7. Save the plugin and try to activate an account if this solves your problem.

Note: If this plugin is enabled, Edit Account option in the profile edit page will not work.

B. How do I get redirected after every/consequent login?

If you are logging in from Login Module, you can redirect your users to JoomBri Dashboard.

  1. Login to your site's backend.
  2. Go to Module Manager and edit the Login Form.
  3. Set Login Redirection Page to Dashboard.

Note: Dashboard menu-item will be available in the list only if you have created it in Menu Manager.

Why do I get "You cannot access the private section of this site"?

Why do I get "You cannot access the private section of this site"?

This question is asked frequently in our forum, why cannot I login after registration? I'm getting You cannot access the private section of this site error message.

Reason

The reason why you receive this error is because the user is not assigned to any Joomla user group. This mistake is commonly done by our members who want to assign their registered users to different user groups.

How to solve?

Please carefully follow the steps below to solve this.

  1. Login to your site's backend.
  2. Navigate to JoomBri Dashboard → Configuration → User Group.
  3. Edit all the user groups by clicking on the name.
  4. Locate the setting Joomla User Group.
  5. Set it to 2 (because the default Joomla user group ID for Registered is 2).

Notes:

  • If you are an advanced Joomla user and have extensive knowledge about Joomla! user groups, you may create different user groups and set the ID into the JoomBri user group settings.
  • If you are not sure of what this setting is for, please set it to default value 2.
